You may have noticed my absence the past two weeks. I have been soaking up the sun on the beautiful Oregon coast with my family, and it was glorious. We had such an amazing time. It was so nice to de-stress and just have fun with everyone. Well, now I’m back and it is time to get ready for the beginning of the school year.
While my children aren’t in school yet, I love to take advantage of this time to renew my teaching efforts and recommit to my goals. Here are five back-to-school resources for violin teachers to help you restart your violin studio and prepare for the new school year.
2. This “Back from Summer” Activity can be accommodated for violin students by playing a “red finger pattern” for yes, and “blue finger pattern” for no. Or adapt whatever skill you want to emphasize.
3. I don’t know about you, but I am feeling some major stress about everything picking up again in the fall. I have been accepting more students because Bruce is headed back to school. (That’s not stressful, at all..) All these students, plus my own two kiddos, and everything else seems to be piling on, and I’m getting a little worried. This post from Laura Lowe at The Piano Studio is particularly timely and appropriate for everyone stressed about having some semblance of work-life balance this year.
4. If you are looking for more students to fill empty places in your studio check out my post about how to find more students.
5. As you may know, I love my iPhone and iPad, and use apps to organize my whole life, including my violin studio. I have created a pdf resource guide with information about my favorite apps.

Be plucky, my friends! Be plucky!
As a final note, I wanted to share this picture of me and my new friend…
